about

this album was played by richard ellis on a godin multiac steel spectrum guitar in a single
improvised take on 6/28/2019 at spring creek music in louisville, colorado. there are no edits.
recorded by richard ellis, touched up a bit by vic dillahay who also produced this album for
curious automata. pete ehrmann provided no photography for this album so there are no pictures
of richard which may be a good thing, unless you like looking at pictures of richard ellis in
which case you should buy his other albums or maybe even just try to find him wandering around
and observe him in his natural habitat. he teaches lessons at guitars, etc in longmont and at
spring creek music in louisville so if you want to sound like this album you should consider
finding him there so you can study with him if you do not want to sound like him he can help
you with that as well. but, really, why would you not want to sound exactly like this album?
a near-perfect exploration of the key of g major - he deviates only once. at the end of the
penultimate track there is a single a-flat note - a minor ninth in the middle of a lush patch
of otherwise pristine ionian bliss. this one mistake,if it can be called a mistake reveals the
genius of his method. a single mar, calling for our attention, marks the end of this meditative
composition, improvisation, thing made in time, for time, hearing time, hearing this thing that
exists

Normal height is around 6 feet, plumage varies from dull grey to beige. The Richard Ellis’ call is a complex series of noises technically known as “sound improvisation” but often referred to colloquially as an “awful racket”. ... more
